In Providence Kennedy and Green discussed boosting Democratic support. Kennedy said he planned a large tip for a Hope High School speech, but recalled Green’s advice and gave the taxi driver no tip and urged him to vote Republican.
DAYTON Ohio 11 crew members died when the B50 Superfortress crashed on a farm south of the city. The plane exploded burning the barn and house nearby both destroyed. A Wright Patterson AFB helicopter arrived soon after. Names of victims pending next of kin notification. The aircraft was a testplane for the Wright Air Development Center.
Sheriff J. C. Jones disclosed a new development in the check racket case. E. G. Roberts, 31, of 324 Avenue C Hobbs, who pleaded not guilty to obtaining money or property by fraud, admitted to Texas Ranger Set John Wood of Midland that he participated in 10 burglaries tied to the four detainees.

He urged Congress to authorize about 100 million dollars yearly for long term economic development in Soviet target countries and requested 100 million more this year to counter the campaign.

Henry Parra 16 was killed by Sheriff’s Deputy Pat Chavez during an armed robbery investigation in Albuquerque. The car carrying Henry and his brother Alfred fled after Deputy Treharn approached, a roadblock was set, and Chavez fired hitting Henry in the eye. Alfred was shaken and questioned by officers.
