Fred Hennighausen of the State Engineer’s office told Aqualantes that metering irrigation wells will not drastically affect farm values. He argued meters increase investment security as the Roswell Artesian Basin is ordered to be metered by Jan 1 1967, with over 2 000 wells to be metered, and he spoke with attorney Jack Russell of the Pecos Valley Artesian Conservancy District.

Adair Mulls Ways to Put Out Blaze
Oil field firefighter Red Adair expects to decide by Friday how to attack a fierce gas fire near Artesia New Mexico. The blaze has burned since Tuesday fed by up to 100 million cubic feet of gas daily and can be heard for miles five miles from a prior incident. Autopsy Finds No Foul Play in Farmington Death
San Juan County Undersheriff J C Cattaneo said a preliminary autopsy report on Mavette R. Rouse age 49 found dead near a car off New Mexico 17 north of Farmington shows no foul play. The body was discovered Tuesday about 100 feet from the vehicle.
