Roswell awards honor wastewater staff and new director
Roswell's utilities director Andrew Valadez and wastewater superintendent Naomi Steward accepted the Max N. Summerlot Award at a New Mexico Water and Wastewater Association event. Mayor Jennings lauded the staff as the council recognized their health and community service. The association also highlighted Summerlot's legacy in a framed wall hanging.

Measles outbreak persists in West Texas and New Mexico
A measles outbreak spreads across West Texas and Lea County New Mexico with 66 reported cases. NMDOH communications director Robert Nott says eight New Mexico cases include a five person family in Lea County four adults and four minors with six unvaccinated and two possibly vaccinated. No hospitalizations or deaths reported and no direct link to Texas cases identified.
