Fire blocks U S 70 as semitruck carries jet fuel
State police said a fire erupted on a semitruck hauling jet fuel on Hondo U S 70 at noon. The driver escaped unharmed and no injuries were reported while Ruidoso and Tinnie firefighters stood by. The truck, owned by Steel Tank Lines of Artesia, was first reported at 10 42 a m and officials feared possible explosion.
