RISD board members highlight area excellence

A 4-2 party line vote in the House Consumer and Public Affairs Committee advanced HB 153 to strengthen New Mexico shield protections. The amended bill extends reporter confidentiality to the legislative branch, clarifies subpoenas limits, and broadens journalist definition to include social media influencers and bloggers. Roswell Fire Department rapidly contained a small apartment fire in the 300 block of East Bland Street after 11 am on Wednesday. firefighters found the building fully involved upon arrival and, after a search, reported no one inside. Investigators suspect a space heater as a possible spark.
