Roswell considers bonds for flood control sewer plan
Mayor Brainerd urged the Roswell City Council to back a 1.2 million dollar bond issue to fund a municipal storm sewer system as part of a flood plan prepared in 1970. The plan targets high density areas with a 9 dollar yearly cost to the average home owner and includes new mains and three laterals. The council also advanced bids for a landfill compactor a police sedan and an airport station wagon and handled several zoning changes and a salary raise for the municipal judge.

King eyes noon adjournment for special session

Friday is the last day for reregistering vehicles by mail. Segundo Rigal of the Motor Vehicle office warned that forms mailed after Friday will cause long waits at the license bureau. If mailed by Friday, stickers arrive by the deadline, March, but after the deadline a penalty of 19 percent of the regular fees plus $1 per day applies.
