City Building Permits Jump 114 Percent Over Nine Years
Over the nine year period the city building inspectorate issued 840 permits in 1975 up from 391 in 1967, with total permit values rising from 798 930 to 7 320 820. New residential construction rose from 97 in 1974 to 131 in 1975 and repairs dominated the permit mix with 522 in 1975 valued at 1 475 104. In early 1976 permits continue to grow with 12 new residences and 28 repairs issued in January versus 5 and 33 in 1975.
