The North Spring River Ditch Company reaches a compromise on outstanding issues following discussions among stakeholders and local authorities. Settlement aims to resolve disputes and restore ongoing water management operations.
City officials push arbitration to settle disputes with North Springs River Ditch Co and Center Ditch. Dr. Went and Mayor Stockard say suits may be dismissed if either company accepts the arbitration proposal. Williams case ends with officer error noted in Elida. Western grazing lands discussion among stockmen and public lands commission seeks a fair range control approach.
The Woman's Club will meet Wednesday afternoon at the Carnegie Library at 2 30 oclock. Mrs Iva J Keebler is leader. Topic is Reigns of Louis XV and Louis XVI.
The Shakespeare Club met Saturday afternoon with Miss Holt and studied Part II and III under the leadership of Percy Evacis who spoke on Richard III. Two new members were elected to the club.
City Attorney K K Scott left for Torrance and then Santa Fe to appear before Judge Wm H Pope in the city suits against two ditch companies. The council offered arbitration, but suits proceed to avoid delay, with Scott moving to strike pleadings in cases 643 and 650 and obtain judgment per the original complaint for default of filing by December 1906.
The town of Kenna plans to officially adopt Urton as its name and launches a weekly paper, the Urton Record, edited by J. M. Hughes. The first issue features locals, editorials, and advertisements reflecting community support and Pecos Valley pride.
A young man arrested by Constable Parish in Roswell, jailed for a Frio Texas killing, is described as innocent beyond doubt. The report notes he was brought to Roswell a week ago last Friday and wrongly charged.

The Pennsylvanian School Ship Saratoga, a frigate built in 1842, narrowly escaped sinking after a gale while on a winter cruise in the West Indies. Captain Atwater ordered 60 boys and crew to pump water as the vessel leaked and was towed into Delaware Breakwater harbor.
A massive blast at Woolwich Arsenal chemical department and cordite magazine left a huge crater and widespread structural damage for miles. No deaths reported though many were panicked by the shock felt up to forty miles away. the cause remains undetermined.
A Government messenger for the Spirit Depot was held up by ten armed men on the way to the bank in Moscow. They stole 25000, dropping 3500 en route. The robbers fled with the remaining sum, leaving police to search for them.

The fif teen round welterweight world title bout between Billy Mellody of Boston and Willie Lewis of New York is set for Valley Falls on February 11. Detroit February 11 A very large crowd of automobile enthusiasts attended the opening of the sixth annual Tri-State Automobile and Sportsmen's Show Association exhibition. The Light Guard armory was decorated and space filled by manufacturers of motor cars and accessories. The show is the largest west of New York except Chicago with a strong prospect of record attendance all week.
The 3rd annual Providence Pure Food show sponsored by the Butchers' and Market Men's Association of Rhode Island opened today in Infantry Hall Providence and will run until February 23.
President Roosevelt has asked Postmaster General Cortelyou to consider barring from the mails any papers detailing the Thaw trial. Cortelyou declined to discuss actions, and the matter will be referred to Assistant Attorney General Goodwin.
New York on February 11 U S District Attorney Stimson served notice on publishers of major newspapers. He intends to present to the U S Grand Jury charges for violations of federal laws against circulating obscene matter in coverage of the Thaw trial.
The Spooner Dramatic Co returns to the Majestic tonight for another week of performances led by the drama The Octoroon. After a successful run last week all seats and standing room were filled on Saturday for Property and Pride, or Cast. The troupe receives strong applause for its clever specialties.

Frohman and Hayman in Europe appoint counsel. Sarah Bernhardt case partners plan to testify. The trust allegedly constrained trade, and Bernhardt was barred from theatres during her farewell tour. In Muskogee on February 11 hearings will be held by the Tridian agent at Pryor Creek to hear applicants seeking removal of restrictions. Additional hearings are planned this week at Vinita Afton Grove and Claremore to take testimony from interested parties.
In St Louis Missouri the three week roller skating tournament begins now at the Jai Alai rink. Mile events crown finals with 150 dollar purse for first, 100 for second and 50 for third. Two mile and three mile races offer similar prizes. Crookson of St Louis, current American mile champion, among entrants.
