Open House Plans Set By Hospital Auxiliary Roswell

Roswell Osteopathic Auxiliary met at the home of Mrs. H. L. Hafely for the final meeting of the year. They planned the auxiliary role in the May 14 dedication and open house of the Roswell Memorial Osteopathic Hospital and discussed hanging draperies and possibly purchasing an incubator. Installation of officers for the coming year named Mrs. Hafely as president and Mrs. Nielsen received a parting gift.

Navy Seaman Dudley Aboard Chevalier In Western Pacific

Leslie T. Dudley seaman USN son of Mrs Wilma Dudley of Roswell serves aboard radar picket destroyer USS Chevalier in the Western Pacific. Chevalier on sixth cruise will operate with the Seventh Fleet for six months before returning to San Diego. The 2,250 ton ship carries five inch guns and anti submarine weapons.

Wesley Fellowship Class Holds Party at First Methodist Church

Thirty three members and guests gathered for a Wesley Fellowship Class meeting at the First Methodist Church. Hostesses decorated tables with spring flowers and miniature May poles. After a covered dish dinner, President Mrs. Oriel Hughes led a brief business session. The program by Miss Freda Bruns and Mrs. Marjorie Kann featured nature pictures and poetry themed "My Father's World."

Newcomers Club May Meeting at Holiday Inn

The Newcomers club met at the Holiday Inn with hostesses Mrs. Ed McKowan Mrs. R L Poole and Mrs. H D Richie. Members played bridge and canasta with prizes awarded to Poole Bishop Alton Putman Hill and Boyle for high second high and low scores respectively.

DAR Meeting Highlights Chapter Activity and New Officers

The Daughters of the American Revolution met at Mrs. Ruby Remmele home with Mrs. A S Patterson presiding. Officers for the coming year were installed by Mrs. J F Hin kle. Membership stands at 124 with 54 genealogical books donated last year. New members J M McKnight and Max Tomlinson welcomed. guests Mrs David FE Moore and Mrs Michel Nalda attended. Next DAR event is Flag Day Luncheon on June 14.

Lubbock Christian College Associates Hear Shipp Talk

O T Skipper Shipp, trustee, spoke at the May meeting held at Mrs H D Hughes home 1601 S Missouri Ave. He reviewed the college origins from 1957 with 100 students to about 400 now. Refreshments followed with cookies and punch and the a cappella chorus music was heard.

Washington Avenue Spring Festival Delights School Crowd

Washington Avenue School staged a songs and dances program themed Song of the Seasons drawing a large crowd Friday night. Third and fourth graders performed fall and spring segments under various directors while winter numbers featured 67 second graders and 65 first graders also contributing. Don Rippey introduced PTA leader Mrs. Bernard Ginsberg who announced next year’s officers including Weldon Day as president and others filling key posts.

Allman Residence Luncheon of Friendship Club

Mrs Curtis Allman hosted the Friendship Club at her country home for a noon luncheon. President Mrs Frank Crockett presided over the business meeting, Edith Griess gave a devotional, Edith Downs reviewed The Life of Florence Nightingale, and Mrs T A Carter read about Mothers Day. During social hour bandages were rolled for the Leprosy Colony. thirty members and guests attended.

Who's News attends New Mexico Dental Assistants Convention

Bobbie Hess, president of the New Mexico Dental Assistants Association, will attend the state convention in Albuquerque at the Western Skies, Wednesday through Saturday. She works in Dr. Sam Johnson's office and has past roles as Trans-Canadas Dental Assistants Society president and Los Angeles convention delegate. Miss Mary Zamora will attend as Roswell society director.

Mrs Lankford Returns From California Visit

Mrs. Everett Lankford visited Redondo California to see her son John Lankford his wife and grandsons Sean and Shan non Gaynor. She observed the family and noted John Lankford teaches in Torrance California participating in an experimental multi teaching program with fourth through sixth graders in one class.
