City Finance Panel proposes 2 percent cut to general fund budgets
Roswell Daily Record reports the Finance Committee asks departments funded from the general fund to cut budgets by 2 percent this year and set aside the funds to cover flood losses and debt. Water and waste programs and the Roswell Air Center are excluded. The plan could free just over $1 million but might affect fire police streets and parks services if approved. The measure, known as Resolution No. 25-08, passed 3-2 to move to council for debate.
