Bill aims to halt Carlsbad brine well collapse
The Carlsbad brine well threatens a 456 foot deep cavern and nearby homes businesses and a church. House Bill 112 sponsored by Rep. Cathrynn Brown would form a remediation authority with state and local officials and seek 150000 for staffing and research. A parallel Senate measure by Sen. Carroll Leavell will be heard next week.
