Railroad plan eyed for northern extension and new company

San Francisco reports Harriman Foster and Ripley of the Santa Fe agree on a plan to form a new company. It would take over Ripley’s San Francisco and Northwestern line with Eureka terminals, absorb Harriman and Foster’s California and Northwestern route, and build a 100 mile gap north of Willets to connect to Ripley’s road, aiming to reach Portland.
