Bonds to be voted on at Roswell election

Roswell voters will decide four bond issues at the April election. Funds would finance sewage disposal 10000 dollars, a new fire pumper 15000 dollars, bridge repairs at 10000 dollars, and street drainage and arterial improvements 10000 dollars. Total 45000 dollars, within current tax levy, with city debt reduced last year.

Rail strike grips Germany paralyzing traffic nationwide

Berlin reports a general rail strike has left Germany in a firm grip with only sporadic trains operating. The disruption stranded many American business travelers across the country, while another note warns of Civil Service exam shortages. The Civil Service Commission calls attention to limited applicants for several positions, with tests in Roswell New Mexico and other cities. Assistant observer exams set for February 16 and others for March 8. Interested persons should contact the Secretary of the U. S. Civil Service Board at the local post office for details and applications.
