Kepler Discovers Planets In Habitable and Binary Star Systems

The Kepler Mission has identified over 2,300 exoplanet candidates with many awaiting confirmation. Kepler-22b marks the first Earth size world in the habitable zone where liquid water could exist. Kepler-16b orbits a double star like Tatooine and would not support life. One exoplanet reflects very little light and glows red from its heat, a mystery to scientists.
