Florida mom faces murder charges in deaths of two teens
Julie Powers Schonecker, 50, is jailed on two first degree murder counts after prosecutors say she killed her 16 year old daughter Calyx and 13 year old Beau, shooting them in the head with a .38 pistol bought five days earlier. Neighbors described a normal family while investigators noted the earlier abuse claims were not borne out by evidence. The killings occurred en route to soccer practice and at the home as the teens studied and lived in a wealthy Tampa suburb near MacDill Air Force Base.
