New Mexico State Wins Arizona Bowl In Unforgettable Rematch
New Mexico State edges Utah State 26 20 in overtime to end a 57 year bowl drought. Larry Rose III rips 16 carries for 142 yards and scores the deciding 21 yard run in OT as the Aggies rally from a 20 20 tie after a back and forth game that featured 96 and 100 yard kickoff returns. Utah State led early with Savon Scarver returning a kickoff for 96 yards while Jason Huntley answered for NMSU with a 100 yard kickoff return. References to past bowl droughts and future roster changes underscore the significance of the victory for the Aggies and the bittersweet exit for Utah State seniors.
