After five years as Roswell Police Chief John Balderston announced retirement set for Jan 4. Deputy Chief Scott Douglass will serve as interim chief while a permanent replacement is found. The year also saw Sheriff Rob Coon take office Jan 1 and a drug and homicide year with multiple arrests.
