Evidence Links Hauptmann Ransom to Income for Murder Trial

Cutting Gets Election Certificate To U.S. Senate id. ene em 7 Toe 0 Strong Evidence Be Used By State Against Hauptmann for Murder Fremington, N. J., Dec. 31 AP Bruno Richard Hauptmann's pocket notebooks, containing careful accounts of his expenses, will be used to show the $50,000 Lindbergh ransom figured in his income. A woman witness who saw wrapped currency in a cabinet and Betty Gow, nurse of the slain Lindbergh baby, are set to testify. Prosecutors seek to undermine Hauptmann's claim that ransom money was hidden by a stock market earnings remark. The state aims to prove the cash was connected to his finances through a federal expert tracing the money in and out of his ledgers. The case hinges on the baby’s sleeping suit and the ransom’s link to the suspect’s expenditures.
