Fire kills two in Roswell home. smoking in bed blamed

Guerrilla Band Seizes Government Officials in Nicaragua
In Managua a Sandinista guerrilla group stormed a wealthy district home holding at least 18 people, including seven women, two ambassadors and the Managua mayor. Martial law was declared as hundreds of national guardsmen ringed the house and negotiations began with demands for cash release and safe passage. Two policemen were killed and several others injured during the attack.

Two Die In Roswell Home Fire Tragedy
Retired Roswell couple Carl Summers 67 and Dora Summers 60 died of smoke inhalation after a small frame home fire. Four teens, Rod Miller 18 Ricky Griego 19 George Garcia 19 and Dennis Mendiola 15, helped attempt rescues. Fire Chief George Daniels cited a train delay as delaying response.
