Chinese girl adopted by Americans meets bone marrow donor
Ten year old Kailee Wells, adopted by Owen and Linda Wells of Albuquerque, met her bone marrow donor Wang Lin from Hangzhou in a moving ceremony in China. Kailee, who had aplastic anemia, received three transplants, successful in 2005 and again February, and now lives in Milwaukee. The meeting highlighted China’s donor registry growth from tens of thousands in 2003 to 700,000 today and urged more donations.
