Veterans brighten holiday with food box giveaway
American Legion Post 28 in Roswell distributed more than 100 food boxes for seniors and veterans and their families. Rebecca Cobos said the effort partners with JOY Center Senior Programs New Mexico DWS Office of the Governor Roadrunner Food Bank and other groups to deliver ham potatoes green beans butter pies rolls and a cloth bag. Felix Sosa known as Santa said the post has long delivered boxes for years and enjoys seeing children’s excitement. Lawrence Longo the regional chaplain noted satisfaction in meeting new people during the drive.
