County Commission passes adult business zoning ordinance
Chaves County commissioners approve a new zoning article for sexually oriented businesses, permitting licensing inspection and enforcement. The 5-0 vote enacts a modified dispersal framework requiring adult enterprises to be in commercial or industrial zones, at least a mile from homes schools parks and religious sites.

Fourth person admits guilt in Curry County meth ring
The final defendant in a Curry County meth trafficking conspiracy pleaded guilty in federal court. Tina Tafoya 33 of Clovis admitted participating in the conspiracy and faces 78 months in prison plus five years of supervised release.
