Convictions Dismissed in Central Park Rape Case
Five Harlem youths aged 14 to 16 had their 1990 convictions voided by Justice Charles Tejada after DNA links emerged to Matias Reyes. The judge said the case might have turned out differently with new evidence, while prosecutors and defense critics warned of a miscarriage of justice.

Wal-Mart Faces Unpaid Overtime ruling in Oregon
A federal jury in Portland found Wal-Mart forced employees at 24 of its Oregon stores to work unpaid overtime from 1994 to 1999. The verdict covers about 350 workers. a separate trial will decide damages. The suit, by Carolyn Thiebes and Betty Alderson, alleged managers pressured staff to work off the clock and altered time records. Wal-Mart argued policy prohibited off the clock work and claimed only some instances occurred.
