Lost automtobilists found near Flagstaff in peril

A search party near Flagstaff Arizona found Perry McGargle and David F Fassett stranded 13 miles from town. They were without food or fuel but saved themselves by lighting a gasoline fire to keep warm. The rescuers were led to the site by smoke. The search party also found logger Thomas Smith dead, missing two days. Nearby a government irrigation project contract was ratified and work will begin.

A morning blaze in the women’s quarters on Blackwell Island New York caused excitement as the male convicts were turned loose. After a hard fight 21 the women were rescued, with the fire confined to the women’s department.
