U S Rep Melanie Stansbury of New Mexico withdrew from the race to be ranking member of the House Natural Resources Committee, ending an eight day bid. The move clears the way for Rep Jared Huffman of California to be elected unanimously, restoring a path for a woman to hold the post. Roswell Considers Hearing on Emergency Infrastructure Loan
Roswell city councilors approved a motion to hold a public hearing on accepting terms for an emergency loan from the New Mexico Environment Department to repair wastewater infrastructure damaged by the Roswell Chaves County flood disaster on Oct 19-20.
