A former Rui doso police officer, Christopher Condon, was arrested after the FBI alleged he forged military forms and falsely claimed Army Reserve service. He faces four counts of fraud and two of forgery for illegally receiving more than $8,000 from Ruidoso. He resigned from the force last week.
A 71-year-old woman told police she was swindled out of two 15 000 dollar checks by a known person who claimed to be an LAPD officer. Police investigated criminal damage on N Richardson Ave with tires slashed and windows soiled, and a second incident on West Hendricks Street where a door was forced but nothing was stolen.
Police logged a Wednesday burglary in the 1900 block of North Mississippi Avenue where an unknown suspect damaged a door and knob and stole 1700 dollars in jewelry and electronics. A separate incident involved gunfire at the front window of a residence on West Albuquerque Street between 7:30 and 8:00 p.m. no suspects seen.
