A Roswell native who delivered papers in the 1940s recalled his career and fondly remembered Jack Chew. Chew, 96, still runs a coin shop on West Second Street after returning from Germany and serving 72 years in Roswell.

NextEnergy pays early for solar district and county taxes

NextEra Energy Resources made the first of 30 annual payments on industrial revenue bonds to Chaves County and the Roswell Independent School District. The county received 396000 dollars and the school district 265000 dollars, part of property tax substitutes for NextEra’s two solar farms northeast of Roswell.
