State Briefs Cover DWI Stop by Judge Kennedy and Farmington Shooting
In Albuquerque a state Court of Appeals judge Roderick Kennedy halted a suspected drunken driver, blocked the car, and called police after grabbing the driver’s keys. The 28-year-old was arrested for aggravated DWI, careless driving, and no insurance. In Farmington a 34-year-old man, Carl Pittman, was shot in the chest and died. An arrest warrant exists for Robert T. Jackson, 43, of Farmington, who knew Pittman. Pittman’s body was sent for autopsy. The New Mexico Forestry Division began a Conservation Seedling Program offering 45 species of trees and shrubs for erosion control and wildlife habitat with orders through April 18. Prices: bare-root seedlings 50 minimum for $32, container seedlings 49 for $49, and 20 two-year plants for $45.
