The Board of Regents ordered West Texas State College closed until further notice as students strike over housing. Scholastic credit for the last term will be given later, dining on campus remains open for now, and the basketball schedule will not be disrupted as the team travels for holiday games.
The United Nations headquarters committee proposed selecting New York City for the permanent home and thanked John D. Rockefeller Jr for offering land for the skyscraper capital. Eduardo Zuleta Angel, Columbia, chairman, left his hospital bed to report as the assembly resumed after dinner.
A fleet of electric lighted flying billboards will cruise California skies soon. Douglas Leigh, Inc. of New York announced the plan to lease dirigibles to companies for day and night advertising. The operation will be directed by retired US Navy Captain Raymond F. Tyler of Santa Ana, with Wells B. McCurdy guiding one blimp.
A plane crash near Remon N H Dee killed five people and seriously injured four passengers and the pilot. The incident left the victims and crew in critical condition as rescue teams rushed to the site.

A Farm Bureau Special train narrowly avoided collision with a freight on parallel tracks near Salt Lake City. Superintendent J. F. Lynch said the freight engineer stopped and backed up moments before impact as the special crossed within about 50 feet of a siding. The baggage car and a Pullman derailed on their sides. other cars remained intact.
Martha Hyer completes two week Caribbean color film test cruise and upon arrival in New Orleans learns her studio has exercised a contract option three months early. She plans to spend Christmas with her parents in Dallas before returning to Hollywood.
