Sierra Middle School Angels Tree Charity Brings Christmas Joy
Eighth grade Honor Society students from Sierra Middle School raised funds with Mountain States Pecans and purchased gifts for about 25 infants and children through the Salvation Army Angel Tree in Roswell. About 20 students shopped with a $20 limit, learning the value of giving while donors praised their conduct at Target.

Remembering Theresa Miller Columbine Hero and Teacher
Roswell native Theresa Lara Miller 44, a Columbine High School science teacher, saved students during the 1999 shooting and died December 2 after a battle with cancer. She led 60 students to safety, called 911, and returned for a wounded teacher. Her funeral drew about 1,000 mourners. Donations can be made to the Theresa Miller Memorial and College Fund.
