Judge Hunkel refused a new trial for J. H. Sanderson J. H. Shumaker W. H. Snyder and W. L. Natthus in the state capitol building conspiracy. Sanderson funded furnishings for the thirteen million dollar capitol and Huston the architect awaiting severance. Fourteen defendants total remain to be tried with Huston’s fate undecided. Horse Races at the Fair Grounds and Stock Market Report

A large crowd attended yesterday at the fair grounds for two horse races with a $25 purse. In the first race W. F. Bartley finished first, R. B. Jones second, and Mr. Root third after an unfair start. Johnnie Wilson won the second race, riding bareback without boots or quirt, by a wide margin. The third race ended with Jones, Bartley, and Root in that order. Also included is the Kansas City Stock Market report for December 11 noting cattle, hog, and sheep receipts and price ranges.

Dexter Couple Married In Dexter By Judge Evans

Nordica concert secured for Roswell January eleventh

The Apollo Club of Roswell has contracted with Mme Lillian Nordica and her quartet for a historic appearance, January 11, at an available venue likely the Baptist church. Fifty seats per delegation are requested from Artesia Carlsbad Hagerman and others, with $2.50 tickets and special trains expected. A ticket committee led by Charles de Bremond J W Thomas and J U Hamilton will organize sales.

Officers Named at Rivers and Harbors Congress Session

At the closing session of the National Rivers and Harbors Congress in Washington on December 11 the annual reports of the directors and of the secretary and treasurer were presented. Vice presidents from various states were named and a resolution adopted. Brief addresses followed as delegates spoke from several states.
