United Airlines, the world’s second largest carrier, files for Chapter 11 seeking to restructure after losing about 4 billion over two years and burning up to 22 million a day. The move covers 22.8 billion in assets and aims to keep flights running while cutting wages and unprofitable routes over about 18 months.
The nine page table of contents outlines Iraq’s pre 1991 nuclear program chemical and biological programs and ballistic missiles. It shows sites and companies involved and notes Baghdad no longer has weapons of mass destruction. The full 12 000 page declaration is to be shared only with five Security Council powers with censored copies for others.
Hidden in a crawl space beneath the Chaves County jail, 13 boxes of old police records, photos and letters reveal Roswell era crime lore. Among artifacts is a 1950s airplane crash photo and a 1958 Norfleet letter detailing a horse sale dispute and a life in law enforcement.
U S Rep elect Steve Pearce, a Hobbs Republican, started a listening tour of New Mexico's 2nd District with a Roswell stop. He aims to build relationships and hear local issues including water, education, health care, and taxes while officials press PILT funding and county concerns.
