Four Precinct Officers Sentenced for Election Contempt
Four officers of Precinct six Ward five were jailed for contempt after being found guilty of permitting fraudulent papers at the recent Denver election. Mullins gets nine months and 500 dollars. Bergman Kitson six months and 500 dollars each. Rein three months with no fine. About 80 ballots in the precinct box were cast by repeaters. The court gave defense attorneys until February 1 to file bills of exceptions for appealing to the U S Supreme Court. Ballots from precinct 10 ward 7 were opened and handed to handwriting experts.
