1974 Farm outlook predicts second best year for farmers
The Agriculture Department forecasts 1974 net farm income between 20 and 23 billion dollars as farmers expand production. High asset totals and rising costs may temper gains, with borrowing up but balanced by large cash balances and inventories. The Outlook and Situation Board notes assets could rise to 498 billion by Jan 1, 1975 if rates moderate.
