Chaplains Help Patients Through Spiritual Care in Hospitals
Whalen notes hospital chaplains offer voluntary spiritual care integrated with medical treatment. They respect diverse beliefs, contact a patient’s pastor if invited, and support coping. Studies link pastoral care to better mood and quality of life among ill patients, with higher well being linked to spiritual resources. Contact Whalen at 627 4072 or ENMMC site for details.
