Lavanna Sue Thompson and Elmer L. Whitehead Jr. wed in an afternoon ceremony at Immanuel Baptist Church with Rev. E. L. Whitehead officiating. Attendants included Yvonne Thompson and Boyd Whitehead. The Red Barn hosted Beta Epsilon rituals with six pledges advancing. Gloria Mendiola and Jeanette Henry earned the Ritual of Jewels, while Mary Walgamott Judy Lowe Fran Gillaspy and Helen Radcliff received Pledge Rituals. Judy Stevens joined as a Jewels transferee from Phi Delta. A Dutch treat dinner followed and Coral Allen led the meeting with plans for year budgeting and Christmas service activities.
Yucca Garden Club met at Mrs. R. M. Richardson's home with a pre meeting coffee hour. President J. N. Cook welcomed guests and announced a January luncheon by the Chaves County Council of Garden Clubs.
