Ramon Paraita a Mexican herd er was arrested on desertion and responsibility for the death by freezing of Jose Leon Baca. Judge J B Bailey held a hearing Friday evening and discharged Paraita as the charge lacked sustaining evidence.

A December 23 Roswell performance of Damon and Pything will reenact a historic Scaffold scene. Henry Wheelock a Kansas arrival and vaudeville artist has sworn out a warrant for a former friend alleging ingratitude and theft of Wheelocks firearms by Corse. Officers have not served the warrant yet.

U S Consul to Explain Interview Over War Claims

Washington December 1 Henry B Miller United States Consul General at Oklahoma will be given a chance by the state department to affirm or deny a published interview in which he is quoted saying the Japanese are organizing their army and navy for war. A clipping of the alleged interview was sent to Miller and the department will treat his answer as conclusive. Judge J B Bailey wed Juan L Silvas and Joaquina Perez at the bride’s home Thanksgiving afternoon. Damon and Pythias play set for Roswell December 3 with a large costume cast promising a striking stage production.

Allie Dorris Found Frozen to Death Near Roswell

Allie Dorris aged 19, son of Mr and Mrs W S Dorris formerly of this city now of Carlsbad, was found frozen to death in the Bar V country 70 miles northwest of Roswell. Will Tolbert of the V ranch reported the death after arriving in town at eleven. The father started to Roswell to bring the body for burial. Funds are being raised for the widow of Jose L Baca the herder who also froze to death.
