Alamogordo police investigate fatal gunbattle
Alamogordo police continued to investigate a Wednesday gunbattle that left Lt. James Vigil and a man dead. Vigil, 29, stopped a car on U.S. 54 near Alamogordo, and a second body was found later in a light green 1963 car with Kansas plates.

Local teen found dead in Roswell apartment
An 18 year old Roswell man Trey Moody of Town Plaza Apartment 17 was pronounced dead after an apparent self inflicted gunshot wound. His father found him at 7 20 p m and police and coroner were called. The coroner ruled the death a personal safety related gunshot wound of the head with no foul play noted. Moody was a senior at Roswell High School.
