Latinos and the March on Washington 1963
In 1963 Latino activists faced skepticism yet engagement with the civil rights march in Washington. Maria Varela and SNCC members questioned the impact while Hispanics formed coalitions and a Texas companion march joined blacks and whites to protest discrimination.
