Alabama Ten Commandments monument moved from Supreme Court
A 2 1/2 ton granite Ten Commandments monument was wheeled from the Alabama Supreme Court building as protesters prayed and chanted. The move followed a federal order removing the display after Judge Myron Thompson ruled it violated the ban on government endorsement of religion. Protesters pledged to continue vigil and supporters criticized the decision while Moore prepared to appeal to the U.S. Supreme Court.
