Washington reports that President Roosevelt signed key points of the automobile code placing it under the national automobile chamber of commerce. Las Cruces August 28 AP A move to form the Southern New Mexico Transcontinental Highway Association seeks representation from Roswell Clovis Deming Alamogordo Las Cruces Carlsbad Lordsburg and other southern towns to push a year round all New Mexico highway. The group aims to keep tourist cars in state longer and encourage visits to the state's scenic wonders.

Jones and Neal Shoot Low Scores in Roswell Match

Albuquerque New Mexico Aug 28 AP Applications for home loans totaling about 1 000 000 have been received at the state home loan office E C Robertson New Mexico administrator for the federal home loan administration said no loans have been made yet as appraisal and other preliminary work has not been completed Home loan bonds have not yet been received here but if any loan is ready to be consummated before arrival of the bonds a receipt for them will be issued and the bonds will be delivered to the mortgagee when they arrive Mortgagees so far have agreed to accept bonds to the amount of 274 000 Robertson said This figure represents the value of the mortgages not the property securing the mortgages he said

Neel Named Engineer Examiner for New Mexico Public Works

Geo M Neel accepted appointment as engineer examiner for the New Mexico Public Works board resigning as state engineer. The board fixed a 4000 dollar salary and expects to handle about 250 applications for financial aid for schools water works and reservoirs.
