Roswell district to begin 1907 98 school year Monday
Roswell Independent School District expects 792 teachers and 10,064 students for the 1907 98 year as students feel mixed about returning. Sixth grader Alejandro Orean and third grader Mayra Ocon are among Nancy Lopez Elementary students returning while Monterey Elementary opens with Preston Sykes and Josh Wilbank eager to bike to class. Superintendent Wayne Dotts and Principal Greg Spradling express optimism despite a higher RHS enrollment and district wide decline in kindergarten through sixth grade. The district reported 10,664 projected students with last year totaling 10,799 amid theft and data loss from stolen computers.
