Roswell Lions Honda All Stars beat Winchester Massachusetts 6 to 3 in a semifinal at Williamsport. Ferrell Dunham pitched all seven innings with nine strikeouts, Tommy Jordan opened scoring with a first inning homer, and key hits by Harold Hobson Jimmy Valdez and Dave Smith helped build a four run fourth inning while Winchester faced late threats.

Mrs. Antonio a waitress was held today in lieu of 15000 dollars bail after pleading innocent to a federal charge of causing a bogus check move in interstate commerce. Fliers accused her of belonging to a forgery ring that cashed over 15000 dollars in worthless checks across Oklahoma and a dozen other states.
Robert Cornell former advertising manager of the Houston Chronicle died yesterday at age 78 in Houston. He headed the Chronicle advertising department for years and was a respected figure in the local media business.
LUBBOCK The trial of B R Sheffield Brady real estate man charged with two counts of forgery under the Veterans Land Program heads for the jury as defense objections rise to 55 of the 17 page charge. The state seeks conviction on the second count for passing a forged instrument to the Veterans Land Board while the first count accuses forgery by aiding a notary in a false acknowledgment affecting land title.
ST. LOUIS reports 14 year old Marvin D Ivey died after a 60 foot fall from a railroad trestle under MacArthur Bridge while his 15 year old companion Dale Moon watched. Moon said Marvin was climbing the trestle to take pigeons from nests and apparently lost his balance.
In Towner Colorado 22 cars of a 79 car Missouri Pacific freight train derailed blocking a spur line. Damage from yesterday’s pileup is estimated at about 100000 dollars due to a burned-out journal box. No injuries were reported.
Charles Op permann, 77, was burned to death when his home and four other buildings in an isolated wooded area west of here were destroyed yesterday.
Adlai E Stevenson named Nixon and Eisenhower era Republican tactics as his two main targets while welcoming Eisenhower's renomination. He mocked Harold Stassen and the convention's process and outlined plans for a large campaign tour with Estes Kefauver, starting in Santa Fe New Mexico.
