Yellowstone River closes over parasite fish kill in Montana
Montana wildlife officials closed a 183 mile Yellowstone River stretch and hundreds of miles of tributaries to all fishing and boating to stop a parasite outbreak. Tens of thousands of fish died including native mountain whitefish and some rainbow and Yellowstone cutthroat trout affecting tourism and guides along Livingston to Laurel. The closure may last months as conditions worsen and decontamination stations are set up to prevent spread.
