New Mexico universities expect record freshmen enrollment
UNM projects at least 2,800 new freshmen starting classes, a 16 percent rise from last year as New Mexico State University Las Cruces and New Mexico Tech Socorro also anticipate growth. Declines earlier prompted lowering the bridge scholarship GPA to 2.5 to boost access and retention through programs like freshman-learning communities.
