A last minute provision in the foreign trade bill would let the President impose an embargo or suspend trade with countries permitting uncontrolled production of illegal narcotics for the United States. The amendment by Rep. Vanik was approved by the Ways and Means Committee in Washington.

Boy Found Near Las Vegas Sparks Lincoln County Search
In New Mexico a 10 year old Albuquerque boy Joe Grady was found shoeless in Hollinger Canyon near Pecos Wilderness after four days missing. Doctors expect to release him today from a Las Vegas hospital where he was treated for cold and hunger. The rescue ended a large search by police volunteers and two helicopters. Separately Lincoln County searchers report their first solid clue in the hunt for 16 year old Leslie Hamrick of Odessa Texas who disappeared near Bonito Lake after venturing ahead of companions. About 250 searchers including 200 from Ft Bliss planned a sweep of the Sierra Blanca area.
