Shelters save three firefighters from Montana blaze
Three firefighters deployed fire shelters as a 8,000acre Montana wildfire advanced, then escaped unharmed and returned to camp. High winds pushed the fire, which began along Interstate 90 last week. Power lines serving two Seattle sized cities were not disrupted as lines operated below capacity. In Washington, Gov. Gregoire prepared an emergency declaration to mobilize state resources, while another fire darkened the southeast with progress on a 42,000acre blaze near Pomeroy, erasing over 100 cabins.

Women fall for hard core criminals not uncommon
New York AP report notes women have formed marriages or alliances with convicted criminals like Ted Bundy and an inmate who aided an escape. Experts say manipulation and a craving for a new mission drive these cases, with nurses and teachers often involved.
