Aging Commission to host televised Roswell forum
The Roswell Aging Commission names officers for the year and sets a televised Q and A forum for Monday August 28 from 6 30 to 7 30 PM at First Baptist Church 500 N Pennsylvania Ave The event will air on CableOne channel 64 Speakers include Monica Duran Matt Thompson and a representative from Income Support Services The commission plans to expand membership and seeks transportation for seniors to Albuquerque and continues to work with law enforcement on locator bracelets for at risk elderly.

Bert Murphy Splash Pad to Reduce Hours for Season
The Bert Murphy Family Splash Pad at Poe Corn Park in Roswell will operate only Saturdays and Sundays from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. for the remainder of the season, ending Labor Day. Berrendo Water Co Op Conducts Lead and Copper Tests
The Berrendo Cooperative Water Users Association is performing state required lead and copper testing every three years. Elizabeth Niece the office manager says 20 random users will submit home samples and plumbing age data by Sept 30. EPA and NM Environment Dept guidance frame the testing. A 2014 report showed no violations for lead copper or other contaminants.
