Segundo G. Rigal, a Cuba native who arrived with his wife and sister nearly a decade ago, is appointed manager of Roswell Motor Vehicles. The MVD commissioner Fer nando E. C. de Baca announced the effective date as Aug. Rigal joined as a filing clerk in 1962 and rose through the ranks after the state took over in 1963. He passed the State Personnel Act test to qualify and will serve taxpayers while seeking support from dealers banks and the motoring public. Rigal is a naturalized U S citizen and formerly worked with the National Chamber of Commerce of Cuba.
An airliner returning visitors from Machu Picchu crashed near Cuzco killing 99 of 100 aboard. Among the dead are 49 American exchange students sponsored by International Fellowship Inc. from Buffalo New York. A remaining student and several other Americans survived.
