Fire in a six story double tenement house in Williamsburg started from a blazing picture frame factory owned by Frank Singer and endangered about a hundred people early this morning. Policemen Martin Short and William Pohlers rescued twelve persons overcome by smoke.

Mrs. Robert Kellahin and her children depart by auto for Santa Fe for a family visit, with Mr. Kellahin riding along to Torrance.
The New York Dry Goods Store owned by C. H. Edwards calls for 40 extra salespeople and cashiers for a big sale starting Tuesday morning August 14. Applicants must be experienced clerks and should apply Friday August 10 between 8 and 10 o'clock.
